Hitler Built a World War II Submarine That Was Revolutionary. It Ended Up a Total Failure. She also represented one of the Third Reich’s biggest failures.   This book emcompasses the war from Hitlers point of view without being to complex. Very readable and very well written. I have read this book at least times. "Hitlers War" is a work of art that must be in all WW2 historians collection/5(18).

The Battle of the Atlantic was the decisive naval battle of the Second World War. Beginning on 3 September and lasting until VE Day in , the Battle of the Atlantic was the longest, largest and most complex naval battle in : This book makes excellent reading due to the writing style and the mostly chronological narrative. The research and facts render the historical basis for "Hitler's War" unassailable. I found no denial in this book that millions of Jews lay dead by the end of the Second World War. The majority of those people murdered were, undeniably, the Russians/5(51).

is that MEIN KAMPF is an historical document which bears the imprint of its own time. To revise it would involve taking it out of its historical context. Moreover Hitler has declared that his acts and public statements constitute a partial revision of his book and are to be taken as such. This refers especially to the statements in MEIN KAMPFFile Size: 2MB. German air force; they bombed British air and naval bases, harbors, communication centers, and war industries Retaliation for the British attack on Berlin. It allowed Britain to rebuild their military strength and it gave Luftwaffe bombers major losses.

The book is a good read, however, if you are looking for a more in depth But then again, it would be very challenging to pack the kind of detail I am interested in within a page book. Bekker does a good job of explaining the political obstacles that hampered Raeder and the Kriegsmarine, especially toward late and early when the /5.

Over pages on the officers, the boats, technology and the Allied efforts to counter the U-boat threat. "Hitler's U-Boat War" (this review actually refers to both volumes of the trade paper edition) stands as an impressive achievement of a naval historian who pored over mountains of Kriegsmarine records and Allied intelligence reports and distilled them into pages of the most comprehensive treatment of the U-Boat war ever by: 9.

Written for a broad audience, this reappraisal of Hitler as military commander and war leader can only be called a startling apology. Irving, the British author of The Destruction of Dresden () and other WW II studies, not only credits Hitler with greater strategic insight than his generals—a view already advanced by John Strawson, Joachim Fest, and others&#;but claims that Hitler.

This is a book about what happened during Hitler's War, written from the German side of the fence. The controversy is difficult to understand; Irving's book contains harrowing accounts of the extermination of trainloads of Jewish people, but in Russia in rather than in Auchwitz/5(44).

This study of the Kriegsmarine’s Sicherungsstreitkräfte, their security forces, fills a gap in the study of the German navy in World War II. This book describes the wide array of vessels including patrol boats, minesweepers, submarine hunters, barrage breakers, landing craft, minelayers, and even the riverine flotilla that patrolled the Danube as it snaked towards the Black Sea.
